Another Liebster? It’s like there’s a sale or something.
A huge thank you to Natacha over at Science Fiction, Transmedia and Fandom for nominating me for the award along with a plethora (can eight be referred to as a plethora?) of amazing blogs.
I’ve been very much pushed for time of recent and haven’t been able to look into blogs I’d like to nominate. As a result, I must graciously decline this award.
I will of course answer Natacha’s questions as she was so kind as to take the time to nominate me. Here goes:
Do you prefer reading fiction or non fiction?
My preference is for fiction but in reality I’d read anything so long as I’m reading.
Do you have writing habits?
No, all my habits are for general wear and are not reserved for any specific activities (although the black veil sometimes makes skiing hard).
What story you read/were told as a child influenced you most?
The myths and legends of ancient Rome, Greece and Britain. If I was going to be specific, I’d have to say the story of the Fear Dorcha and the Faerie midwife.
Is there a specific writing project you are currently focusing on?
I’m focussed almost entirely on my urban fantasy series. The first book is coming up to second draft and I’m about to start on the second book.
Which type or genre of writing would you like to be remembered for?
I’ll take urban fantasy or horror anytime. I’d even settle for comedy.
In 2014, is there a book you are particularly looking forward to reading?
Zoo City by Lauren Beukes. This book has been on my reading list for so long and this year is the year.
In 2014, is there a movie you are particularly looking forward to watching?
I recently picked up a copy of the low budget zombie movie, Colin. Zombie movies are one of my weaknesses and I’m looking forward to sitting down to this one.
Which country – that you didn’t visit yet – would you like to travel to?
I’d like to visit Iceland…so long as they can keep the volcanoes under control.
What would be your ideal writing room?
One with no internet. In reality, I’ve always fancied myself writing on a boat (maybe a narrow boat), surrounded by shelf after shelf of books to draw reference from.
Do you own some books in more than one edition?
Yes, I own a first edition and a tenth-anniversary edition of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods.
Is there a certain food or drink that you particularly enjoy when writing?
Coffee and lots of it.
Once again thank you to Natacha and thank you to everyone who reads this blog.
