Here’s the thing, it would appear that last night, in a semi sleep-deprived state, I had the brilliant idea to sign up to yet another blog challenge. Some of you may have already noticed the new badge appear in my sidebar. If not, here it is again:
Spot it that time? Good!
This badge and associated post by Daily (W)rite sprung up on my reader and instantly caught my attention. Now, I can usually shirk writing challenges like a pro and, considering I’m already tied up in the 52 Week Flash Fiction Challenge, I thought that this one would be no different.
Then I read the premise…
One blog post per day (Sundays excluded) throughout April each beginning with a different letter of the alphabet from A to Z. The posts can be about any topic so long as the post’s central theme is that day’s letter e.g. April 1st corresponds to the letter A.
Now, I WANT to do this challenge.
With that in mind, I’ll be putting together a Dictionary of Tales. A single piece of flash fiction, of no more than 500 words, for each letter of the alphabet, 26 tales in 26 days. I want to tie them all together with an overarching theme but…I can’t decide which one to go for.
My friends, I once again need your help. I know what you’re thinking ‘another poll post so soon after the last one. Chris’s lost it. I’m going to stop reading now’. Please don’t, I’m doing this for a good reason – you’re the ones that are going to read them. It’s only right that you get to decide what you’re reading.
The options are:
- Myths, Monsters and Legends
- Conspiracy Theories, or
- A true Dictionary of Tales – 26 words randomly generated
I’m even open to any suggestions you may have.
Thanks for your vote, your help and your continued support. I promise this will be the last poll post for a long while.
