It’s (past) time to get your thinking caps on and sign up for Thain in Vain’s Flash Fiction Challenge.

I know, I know…this 52 week challenge is already in its third week but it’s never too late to take up the torch.

The rules could not be more simple: every wednesday, Thain in Vain will set a writing prompt before turning it over to you to create a flash fiction tale around that theme. The catch? All pieces should have a complete story arch (even if parts are implied) and be under 500 words in length. And what’s more, it’s open to all fiction writers with no restriction on genre except your imagination.

So, sign up now and get flashing…erm…creative.

  1. Nice post. I was checking constantly this blog and I am impressed!
Very helpful info specially the last part 🙂 I care for such info a
lot. I was looking for this particular info for a very long time.
Thank you and best of luck.

  2. I am amazed at the creativity of the people posting flash fiction stories, especially of those responding to prompts. I’m also impressed with the severe self-discipline it takes to write a story of 500 words ONLY. Good Lord! As someone who suffers from ‘Excessive Wordage’ (kinda like that term), I’m learning that the discipline required to craft a flash fiction story is helping me become sharper in my writing. How precious is a word when you’ve only got 500 to work with!

  3. I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great.
I do not know who you are but definitely you’re going
to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!

  4. Bear in mind that how to conceive a girl this old menstruation remedy can somehow stack the odds a touch
towards having a baby girl. Using ovulation calendar one can know the exact gender clinic douche recipes and food!
This, also known as pre implantation genetic diagnosis as it
    carries the X chromosome.

  5. It should come as no surprise, then, that Pinterest is fast becoming a top social networking tool.
If you like something from other people’s board you can “re-pin” it to your own. It’s not always easy, but
if the material is for something truly important, it’s the wisest step to take.
